Starting Share Business - Open BO Account

The Share Market is one of the most prominent money market in Bangladesh. New investors want to come in the market with their capital to gain some profit.  Now a days, the young generation feels to invest in the share market rather doing 9 to 6 jobs.


Bangladesh Solution Diary wants to assist those new investors to enter in the market to write their own future. In this part solution diary will give the solution of opening a BO (Beneficiary Owner Account) A/C for the share market investment.    

·         Open an account at a bank if you don't have one already.
·         Select a suitable Stockbroker or Brokerage House with whom you would do your share business. You need to make sure that the Stockbroker you are going to select is a registered member of DSE and CSE.-- Few Stockbroker/Brokerage House addresses
·         Collect a BO Account Opening Form from the Brokerage House and fill it up.

Documents needed to open a BO Account:
You need following documents to submit along with the filled up form

·         If you are an Individual Applicant
1.     Two copies of passport size photograph
2.    National ID Card. Or, Photocopy of Passport/Bank Statement/Driving License/Nationality Certificate
3.    Two copies of passport size Photograph of nominees

·         Joint Applicant
1.     Two copies of passport size photographs
2.    National ID Card. Or, Photocopy of Passport/ Bank Statement/ Nationality Certificate

·         Sole Trader/Proprietor
1.     Trade License
2.    Partnership Agreement/ Resolution of Partners to operate the BO account

·         Corporate Account

1.    Photographs of the Directors
2.    Photocopy National ID Card. Or, Photocopy of the Passport/Driving License/Nationality Certificate.
3.    Board Resolution
4.    Memorandum and Articles of Association certified by RJSC
5.    Signature and Photograph of the authorized person if any.
6.    Now you need to pay the brokerage house an account opening fee (different brokerage house charges different amount from Tk. 600 – Tk. 1000) and submit your documents to them.
Your account will be opened within 3 days to 1 month. (How long it will take depends on the brokerage house).

Bangladesh National & Voter ID Card


Bangladeshi government has passed an ordinance making national ID cards mandatory for citizens. ID cards has, however, be issued only for voting purposes in the beginning to encourage eligible people to register their names on the electoral roll at the registration centers. Now this ID card is mandatory for all kind of verifications such as Bank loan or Account, Buying assets etc. in near future it will be an essential element for any valid transition.

Prerequisites to register for National ID card:

1)    Applicants must be adult (18 years)
2)    Citizen of Bangladesh
3)    Applicants should apply in prescribed Application form
4)    Submit application to Election commission office or concern District/ Thana Election Commission office
5)    Application addressing  the Project Director, PERP,  Election Commission Office

What will I do if I lost my National ID card (NID)?

  1.  Make a General Dairy in the local police station including the NID number
  2.  Collect the free application form from Election Commission Office
  3.  Fill-up the form with Name, Address, issued NID or Voter ID number and signature along with the GD copy.
  4.  The Voter number can be collected from the local Election commission office
  5. Submit  the filled application to Election commission office or concern District/ Thana Election Commission office by addressing  the Project Director, PERP,  Election Commission Office
  6.  After submitting the form, a received memo will be provided with a delivery date
  7. Collect the NID within five days from the issued delivery date. (Note that, after five days it will be difficult to collect the NID)
  8. The full process is free of cost and will take 39 days from application submission date.   


If need correction of NID -

     Two types of correction can be made in the National Identity card. One is printing mistake and two, Information change. Correction of printing mistake is much easier than the information correction.  In both cases, following steps are necessary;
  1. Submit application by addressing Project Director
  2. Free from can be collected from Election Commission office.
  3. Fill-up the concern fields with name, address, NID no and phone number
  4. Include the error and correct information in the addressed fields.
  5. Attach all relevant and valid documents and incorrect NID with form and submit
  6. Collect the NID within five days from the issued delivery date. (Note that, after five days it will be difficult to collect the NID)
  7. The full process is free of cost and will take 15 days from application submission date

  
Required Attachments:

Date of Birth correction: Attested copy of SSC or equivalent certificate. If not SSC qualified than Passport, Birth Certificate, or Marriage Certificate.

Name correction: Name Avid copy from court, Newspaper circulation. The circulation must include the incorrect name, address and the correct name along with other documents

Place Husband’s name instead of place of Father’s name: Marriage certificate and attested copy of Husband’s NID.

Place Father’s name instead of Husband’s name: Divorce certificate and attested copy of Father’s NID.

Incorrect Mother’s name: Attested NID copy of Father and Mother
